Micro-nano scale multiphase flow in porous media is fundamental for flow and transport phenomena in hydrocarbon extraction in petroleum reservoirs, deployment of unconventional resource formation, heat transfer/exchange enhancement using nanoparticle and environmental focus processes. Micro-nano scale multiphase flow physics in porous media is particularly challenging as it involves complex pore structure of porous media and complicated interactions with the solid microstructure. Micro-nano scale multiphase flow has attracted the attention of an impressive group of researchers and have spawned numerous theoretical and applied solutions in micro-nano scale fluid flow physics in porous media in the past two decades. This special issue focus on mathematical, experimental and numerical investigation for micro-nano scale multiphase flow physics in porous media, with an emphasis on theoretical contributions which increase the basic understanding of flow and transport through porous media and their application to engineering and scientific problems. We invite authors to contribute original research and critical review articles related to all aspects of Micro-nano scale flow in porous media by means of theoretical and experimental approaches. Potential topics include but are not limited to the following: - Multiphase and nonlinear flow
- Micro interface effect
- Digital core model
- Pore network modeling
- Nanoscale heat and/or mass transfer
- Nanoparticle flow through porous media
- Application case studies
